A day after the chief of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) claimed that she was dragged for 10-15 metres by a car, a purported video of the incident emerged on social media.

Swati Maliwal had said that the incident occurred when she was conducting a "reality check" on women's safety on 18 January 2023.

The video showed a woman claimed to be Maliwal standing on the street, when a person in a Baleno car approaches. He apparently offers to drop her, but Maliwal refuses. But the car takes a u-turn and comes back.

Maliwal then apparently reaches in through the window to stop him, but the man tries to drive away and screams are heard.

A 47-year-old named Harish Chandra was later arrested by police.
