Uttarakhand: Malari Inn set to be razed as demolition drive resumes in 'sinking' town Joshimath

Demolition drive to bring down structures marked as unsafe in 'sinking' town Joshimath resumed on Thursday, a day after the drive was halted due to protests.

Joshimath's multi-storey hotel Malari Inn, is the first structure that is going to be razed after it was marked unsafe as it developed deeper cracks owing to land subsidence in the town and inclined backwards. 

Authorities have cordened off the sorrounding area amid heavy security arrangements. Meanwhile, CM Dhami announced a 45 crore rehablitation package for 3000 families.
