Ujjain rape case: locals who shooed away the survivor may face action, says report

Day after Madhya Pradesh Police arrested the main accused in a horrific Ujjain rape case, a senior police officer told NDTV that locals who didn't help the pleading girl, who went door-to-door seeking help may face charges.

The locals who shooed her away and failed to report or register the crime may face action under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, the outlet reported. 

One such person has been identified who didn't inform the police on purpose, Additional Superintendent of Police in Ujjain, Jayant Singh Rathore told NDTV, adding that the Police will scan CCTV and more people will be identified.
