Shimla: Many dead, trapped after landslides caused by heavy rain

Death and destruction hit the popular tourist hotspot of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh on the morning of August 14.

Heavy rain led to landslides in Summer Hill and Fagli areas, killing at least 9 people.

Several were feared trapped after a Shiv temple collapsed in Summer Hill.
In Fagli, houses were buried under mud and slush.

A search and rescue operation was launched to save those stuck under the debris.
