Mumbai Weather Update: Mumbaikars woke up to familiar scenes of waterlogging on Tuesday as heavy rains lashed the city overnight and continued in the morning.

Local train services and road traffic were disrupted due to the heavy downpur. The Andheri subway resembled a canal as fast flowing water gushed through it.

People were seen wading through almost knee-deep water at the city's Sion Circle. A video by news agency ANI also shows a group of people dressed in fluorescent orange overalls helping people.

6 districts of Maharashtra - Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Kolhapur - have been put on alert and been asked to prepare to evacuate residents in flood-prone areas. NDRF teams have also been deployed.
