Rains in Himachal Pradesh this week triggered landslides across the state, blocking roads and bringing down houses.

As the death toll amid the rain fury touched 60, more people are feared buried under the rubble.

In an interview with PTI, Himachal CM Sukhu said the estimated damage in the two devastating spells of heavy rain – this week and in July – is about Rs 10,000 crore.

Meanwhile, Indian Air Force helicopters are rescuing people stranded in the flood-hit areas.

On August 15, a single Chinook helicopter rescued 18 people stranded near Shimla.
