A class 12 girl student of a government-aided school in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district was found dead on Monday in her hostel, police said.
According to the police, no suicide note has been recovered yet and the probe has been transferred to Crime Branch-CID wing of Tamil Nadu Police.
According to media reports, the student was found hanging.
Heavy security has been deployed around the school after the parents and relatives of the girl started protesting and blocking roads. They have alleged that the school authorities are not giving them complete details about the girl's death.
The student's death comes weeks after another girl was found dead on hostel premises. On July 13, a 17-year old girl student allegedly died by jumping from her hostel in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi district.

Violent protests followed her death with family claiming she was tortured by teachers for poor performance in school.
