More than 3 days after a triple train crash in Odisha, Railway officials provided an update regarding the injured passengers, discharged persons, and the latest death toll.
Divisional Railway Manager of the Eastern Central Railways Rinkesh Roy told ANI that out of around 1,100 people injured in the incident, around 900 had been discharged after treatment. He added that around 200 people are still being treated in various hospitals in Odisha.
Regarding the death toll, Roy said that 278 people perished in the tragedy. He said that 177 bodies had been identified and handed over, or the process for it had started. Around 101 bodies were yet to be identified.
