Monkey kills baby in UP: 4-month-old boy thrown from roof by animal, claim parents

In a disturbing incident, a monkey reportedly threw a baby from the roof of a building. The 4-month-old baby boy did not survive the fall and died on the spot.The incident took place in a rural area of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh on 15 July.

The baby's parents claimed that they were walking on the terrace of their 3-storey house when a troop of monkey arrived. The monkeys surrounded the father, Nirdesh Upadhyay, who was holding the child in his arms.

As the couple tried to run towards the stairs, the baby fell from his father's arms. Before he could be picked up again, the baby was grabbed by a monkey and thrown off the roof, Nirdesh claimed.

A team of forest department officials has been deputed to investigate the incident.
