A 17-year-old Kerala girl became India's youngest organ donor after she donated a part of her liver to save her ailing father.

Devananda, who is a class 12th student, sought permission from Kerala High Court as the law does not allow minors to donate organs.

The HC gave the nod to Devananda and even praised her for fighting against all odds, as per a report by NDTV.

She donated a part of her liver after the nod to her father who is suffering from chronic liver disease.
