Jallikattu: 60 injured, with 20 seriously hurt, in bull-taming event in Tamil Nadu's Avaniyapuram

With Jallikattu fever gripping Tamil Nadu, dozens of participants suffered injuries in Avaniyapuram on 15 January 2023.

Around 60 people were hurt, with 20 of them receiving serious injuries in the bull-taming sport. They were sent to Rajaji hospital for treatment. The other 40 who had minor injuries received first aid.

Madurai officials said that arrangements have been made to give adequate medical care to participants.
