Days after a top private school in Delhi received a bomb threat, police said that a student was behind the hoax alert.

Police said that the bomb threat email was sent to Delhi Public School, Mathura Road by a 16-year-old student.

The teenager reportedly admitted to the "prank" during a counselling session. He said he did it for fun after getting the idea from a similar incident at The Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar just days earlier.

DPS Mathura Road had been evacuated and searched on April 26, 2023, following the email, but nothing suspicious was found.
