Delhi's coldest day this winter: minimum temperature 3°C; dense fog delays trains; airport alert

The national capital continued to shiver on 5 January 2023 as Delhi recorded its lowest temperature of the season.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius on the morning of 5 January. A day earlier, it was 4.4 degrees Celsius, and on 3 January, it was 8.5 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, dense fog in many parts of north India affected travel. At least 12 trains were delayed, and 2 rescheduled by Northern Railways.

The Delhi airport said that low visibility procedures had been implemented, but flight operations were running normally so far.
