Delhi: elevator crashes, kills 3 persons, injures another at factory; AAP MLA promises justice

In a worrying incident, an elevator crashed in a Delhi factory on 8 January 2023, killing 3 persons and injuring another.

The lift crash took place in a chewing tobacco factory in west Delhi's Naraina when it was closed. The elevator's occupants were housekeeping staff.

Naraina MLA and Aam Aadmi Party leader Durgesh Pathak visited the police station after the incident came to light. He promised a transparent probe, and punishment to those responsible.

"A case is being registered under section 304 of the IPC. The people responsible will be arrested," he said. "I hope that Police will diligently perform their duty without any pressure," he added.
