Dalit groom rides horse, stones pelted at wedding procession

A Dalit groom's wedding procession was attacked with stones to stop him from riding a horse to the venue. The incident happened in  Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district on June 5. 

The groom was headed to Sagar district for the wedding with 50 guests when a group of villagers asked him to get off the horse, when he refused they pelted stones at the procession. The crowd continued to assault the wedding group even after police intervention. 3 policemen sustained injuries. 

The groom and his guests were given police protection for the rest of the journey.
