Cyclone Biparjoy weakens into 'very severe storm', landfall likely on June 15

Cyclone Biparjoy on June 13, 2023, weakened into a 'very severe cyclonic storm' from an 'extremely severe' one.

The Indian Meteorological Department said that at around 2:30 am on June 13, the cyclone was centred around 290 km from Porbandar in Gujarat.

It is expected to cross Saurashtra and Kutch by the evening of June 15, the IMD said.

Meanwhile, rough sea conditions, high tide, and strong winds continued to be witnessed in coastal areas like Dwarka in Gujarat, and Mumbai in Maharashtra.
