Ceiling fan falls on students at Delhi govt school; govt blames school admin, sacks estate manager

In a startling incident in Delhi, a ceiling fan fell on students at a government school in Nangloi. Two students were injured in the incident, and were admitted to a private hospital.

Delhi government said on 30 August that it had terminated the services of the school's estate manager. The incident was blamed on lapses by school authorities, and legal action initiated for negligence.

Delhi police have also registered a case in connection with the incident. The administration of every school has now been asked to report any maintenance-related issues to get them fixed immediately, as per a government statement.
