Appeal to celebrate February 14 as 'Cow Hug Day' withdrawn

The government on 10 February withdrew its appeal to celebrate February 14 as ‘Cow Hug Day’, three days after the Animal Welfare Board of India issued an order to this effect, The Indian Express reported.  

"The appeal for celebration of Cow Hug Day on 14 February stands withdrawn as directed by the Animal Husbandary Ministry", the fresh order issued on February 10 read.
