With pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh absconding for 4 days, the Punjab and Haryana High Court pulled up the Punjab government on 21 March 2023.

The court reportedly asked the government, "You have 80,000 cops. How did Amritpal escape?" The High Court also called it an intelligence failure.
