India's newest airline Akasa Air suffered a scare on 27 October 2022 as a bird hit one of its planes flying from Gujarat's Ahmedabad to Delhi. Thankfully the flight landed safely in the national capital.
The aircraft - a Boeing 737 Max - has been grounded for a detailed inspection. This is the second bird hit incident in 2 weeks involving an Akasa Air plane.
On 15 October, a Mumbai-to-Bengaluru plane returned to the airport due to a burning smell in the cabin. The cause later turned out to be a bird strike.
The latest instance led to a subsequent flight being impacted. Akasa Air said that its customer service team was assisting passengers and arrangements were being made to accommodate their journeys.
