A male leopard got its head trapped in a metal vessel for five long hours in Dhule district of Maharashtra. In a video, the animal was seen making efforts to take his head out of the pot. However, it failed.
The forest officials later tranquillized the leopard and carefully removed the pot from its head. According to Range Forest Officer Savita Sonawane, "A male leopard spent five hours with its head stuck in a metal vessel in a village in Dhule district. It was later rescued by the Forest department."
The Union Environment Ministry on February 29 released the 'Status of Leopards in India, 2022' report.' According to the report, there are an estimated 13,874 leopards in India, up from 12,852 in 2018.
