The Congress-led Karnataka government has approved a proposal to withdraw a CBI investigation into a disproportionate assets case against Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

The proposal also seeks that the case be handed over to the state police or to the Lokayukta.

The case had been given to the CBI by the BJP government in Karnataka in 2019.
