There is a state-wide bandh in Karnataka on Friday as protest against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The bandh has been called by pro-Kannada and farmers’ organisations.
What's closed?
Schools and colleges in several districts are closed as the Karnataka State Private Schools’ Association has extended moral support to the bandh.
Private taxis and auto services will be impacted as their unions have backed the bandh.
Hindustan Times reported that malls and movie theatres will also remain closed.
Farmers and traders in northern Karnataka are morally supporting the strike but may keep businesses open.
What's open?
All public transport like buses and metro will function as usual
All private and public banks will also be open
Hospitals and medical shops will function as usual.
Emergency service-related vehicles like ambulances, pharma vehicles and other important goods carrying vehicles will be allowed to play
