The Janata Dal (Secular) party on April 30 announced that they have suspended their member and party chief Deve Gowda's grandson Prajwal Revanna, who is accused of sexually abusing several women.

JD(S) core committee president GT Devegowda said that Revanna will be suspended till the SIT team completes its investigation. He said that a show-cause notice has also been issued against Revanna, who has reportedly fled to Germany.

"We welcome SIT against Prajwal Revanna. We've taken a decision to recommend our party's national president to suspend him from the party till the SIT investigation is completed," JD(S) core committee president GT Devegowda said.

Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had formed a special team after obscene videos of Revanna came to the fore. The development comes as there have been growing calls for expelling Revanna.
