Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah claimed that Muslims are not safe under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While speaking to reporters in Budgam, the National Conference party chief said, "When our soldiers lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack, Modi was filming for a documentary. And when Satya Mallik pointed out about our internal lapses, he was gagged."

"And how can he (Modi) say there is peace here when I am here with heavy security? Thanks to almighty Allah, we (Muslims) are safe in Kashmir. But that kind of hate he (Modi) is spreading in the rest of India, Muslims are not safe. Muslims are targeted and made to say, Jai Shri Ram. Does Ram belong to only them?" he said.
