Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has urged people not to troll Smriti Irani over her recent Lok Sabha defeat to Gandhi loyalist Kishori Lal Sharma.

On X, Rahul urged people to “refrain from using derogatory language and being nasty” for ex-Union Minister Smriti Irani and other leaders.

He said, “Winning and losing happen in life. I urge everyone to refrain from using derogatory language and being nasty towards Smt. Smriti Irani or any other leader for that matter.”

“Humiliating and insulting people is a sign of weakness, not strength."

However, it is not clear what prompted Rahul to come out with the appeal.

Congress' Sharma beat Irani in Amethi by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes.
