Renowned poet and diplomat Abhay K. gave a poetic tribute to India’s lunar mission as the country prepares for a soft landing on the moon on August 23.

The ‘Moon Anthem’ will later get its music from popular composer Dr L Subramaniam. Another notable contribution will be from playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy.

Abhay K. said that he hopes his poem will help “connect humanity to our closest celestial body, our constant companion in the universe.”

“Mankind’s great leap, ephemeral solace. A pit stop to explore the deep space, eternal companion, ever-morphing face,” an excerpt from the poem read.

“It's a matter of great pride and honour that India's Chandrayaan-3 lander is soon going to make a soft landing on the Moon. It will be a dream coming true for a billion-and-a-half Indians,” he said before the scheduled moon landing, as per NDTV.
