India witnessed yet another increase in daily new cases of Covid-19, the highest in 195 days.
5,335 new infections were recorded in the past 24 hours, as per data released on the morning of 6 April 2023.
This is reportedly the first time since 23 September 2022 that India's daily Covid count has crossed the 5,000-mark.
13 deaths were reported in 24 hours. The country now has 25,587 active cases.
