India on Monday witnessed a decline in the daily Covid-19 cases but the positivity rate saw a sharp uptick in the last 24 hours, ending at 8 am on Monday.
The union health ministry data showed that the country recorded 3,06,064 new Covid-19 cases and 439 deaths while the positivity rate climbed to 20.75 per cent.
India’s active caseload currently stands at 22,49,335.

The active cases now comprise 5.69 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 93.07 per cent.
At least 72 per cent of India's adult population is fully vaccinated whereas around 52 per cent of children in the 15-18 years old age group have been inoculated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
