Independence Day: UAE astronaut shows Delhi from space to wish India

UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi snapped a photo of New Delhi from the International Space Station to wish India a happy Independence Day on August 15.

The astronaut went on to greet Indians with “namaste”, which he wrote in 11 languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Urdu, Tamil, Bangla and Assamese.

Al Neyadi had also wished Pakistanis on August 14 and posted a picture of Islamabad from space.

The UAE-based flight engineer recently became the first ever Arab individual to participate in a spacewalk. He is due to return to Earth on August 31 after completing his six-month expedition on the International Space Station.

India celebrated its 77th independence day on August 15.
