Hyderabad, Dec 5 (PTI): In a major security alert, Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received an email on Friday morning threatening the safety of the Dubai-Hyderabad Emirates flight. Upon receiving the warning, airport authorities promptly initiated standard security measures once the flight landed, according to reliable sources.
Flight EK526, having departed from Dubai at 3.51 AM, touched down safely at 8.30 AM, airport sources have reported.
"On 5th December, 2025, an email threatening a bomb was received at the Hyderabad airport's customer support at 7.30 AM concerning the Dubai to Hyderabad flight EK526. The flight successfully landed at Hyderabad airport at 8.30 AM. Standard safety protocols were promptly activated," sources informed PTI.
The safety procedures involved isolating the aircraft, conducting comprehensive baggage and passenger screenings, preparing fire engines for emergency response, and deploying sniffer dogs, among other security measures, the sources added.
Flight EK526 was operating as a Boeing 777-300ER (twin-jet), which had taken off from Dubai earlier in the morning.
Similarly, on Thursday, the airport received two identical warning emails directed at Indigo's Madina-Hyderabad and Sharjah-Hyderabad flights. As a precaution, the Madina-Hyderabad flight was diverted to Ahmedabad Airport.
