Gurugram Railway Station is now part of the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Plan which focusses on redevelopment of the railway station, with approximately 300 crores allocated for its overhaul.

The station's design will showcase local culture, heritage, and architecture, ensuring modern facilities for universal accessibility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the redevelopment work at Gurugram Railway Station, along with the renovation of 554 railway stations and 1500 road overbridges and underpasses across the country.

Addressing the program, Central Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's adept leadership in accelerating railway development over the past decade. Singh highlighted the shift from previous governments, where railway budgets were predominantly allocated to the Railway Minister's region or state. Under PM Modi's leadership, railway development has progressed uniformly nationwide, with ongoing projects worth 20,000 crores in Haryana alone. Additionally, the central government's temporary budget has allocated a gift of 2,750 crores for railway development in the state.

Singh commended the innovative approach of integrating the railway budget with the Finance Department, allowing for efficient financial management. This initiative has led to the swift construction of new railway stations and the revitalization of existing ones across the country.
