A wealthy Jain couple from Gujarat has donated nearly ₹200 crore and has opted for monkhood. Bhavesh Bhandari and his wife donated all their possessions, including their mobile phones and air conditioners, in February during a ceremony. The video of the ceremony has surfaced on the internet.

The couple will now initiate a life of renunciation.

The businessman from Himmatnagar was in the construction business. The couple said they were inspired by their children to adopt the monkhood. In 2022, their 19-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son adopted monkhood.
