Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to visit Gujarat on a two-day tour beginning February 21, party leaders said.
AAP State Organisation General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya stated that Kejriwal and Mann will arrive in the state on Friday for meetings and public engagements. According to Sorathiya, Kejriwal will land at Ahmedabad Airport and address the media upon arrival.
The two leaders are also expected to hold a meeting with AAP’s state leadership to discuss organisational matters, particularly in view of the upcoming local self-government elections. The party has already announced its election committee for the polls.
On Sunday, February 22, Kejriwal and Mann are scheduled to travel to Bhavnagar, where they will attend a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Mandhata Group under the leadership of AAP National Joint Secretary Rajubhai Solanki.
Later in the day, the two leaders will visit Pache village in Vallabhipur taluka to participate in and offer prayers at the consecration ceremony of the Murlidhar Temple. They are also expected to attend a discourse by speaker Ramesh Oza during the visit.
The visit comes as AAP steps up preparations for local body elections in Gujarat.
