Internal differences have resurfaced within the Gujarat Congress as Patan MLA Kirit Patel expressed dissatisfaction over organizational appointments and issued a warning of resignation.
Reacting to the situation, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) youth leader and State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot commented on the ongoing issues within the Congress party. He said that factionalism in the Congress has reached its peak, with party workers who work day and night reportedly facing oppression and injustice.
Dr. Barot highlighted that, looking at the struggles of these workers who aim to deliver justice to the people of Gujarat, achieving results appears challenging under the current party structure. He referenced Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Rahul Gandhi himself has repeatedly said that in the Congress, there are different horses for weddings and different horses for races. However, even today, the Congress does not know which horses are meant for weddings and which are meant for races.”
He also cited a recent incident in Visavadar, where senior Congress leaders were allegedly involved in financial dealings with the Bharatiya Janata Party, calling it an example of internal conflicts affecting the party.
Dr. Barot added that a fresh example has emerged in Patan, where tensions arose between the local district unit and the so-called disciplinary leadership of the Congress. “Today, the entire district is saying that these appointments should not be made, yet appointments are being carried out at the behest of people engaged in anti-party activities—those who are turncoats. Even sitting MLAs are not consulted. When a working MLA is compelled to say that he will resign from his party position, such a situation arises within the Congress, and still no decision is taken by the state leadership,” he said.
He further addressed Congress workers and sincere leaders who aim to serve the public, stating that, according to him, the Aam Aadmi Party is actively working to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat. “All those Congress leaders who genuinely want to deliver justice to the people of Gujarat should leave the Congress party and join the Aam Aadmi Party,” Dr. Barot said.
