In a breakthrough development, Germany plans to legalise purchase and possession of limited amount of cannabis.

As much as 20 grams of cannabis is expected to be decriminalised and made availble for personal use, stated a Bloomberg report.

The weed reform which was made during the elections is expected to allow cannabis sales in pharmacies and licensed shops.

The proposed plan includes a limit of 10% for 18-21 year olds.

Germany's ruling coalition has proposed a draft legislation which is still being discussed.

Countries like Portugal have already legalised use of cannabis, and with Germany taking the incremental step , other Suropean countries are likely to move forward in the same direction.
