A purported video of a man lying unconscious on the floor of a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh with his face covered in blood has yet again brought to fore the conditions of public healthcare system in the country.
The video reportedly from a district hospital in Kushinagar shows the man lying on the floor unattended while a dog walks around him.
NDTV quoted the hospital's doctor-in charge SK Varma as saying that the man had received severe head and face injuries in an accident. He added that the man was drunk and fell off the bed multiple times.
NDTV also reported that the doctor and ward boy were attending another patient in a different ward when the video was shot.
