With the Ukraine-Russia war getting bloodier, Indian students still stuck in the conflict zone are desperate to reach the safety of their home nation. However, the process of reaching the Ukrainian border in order to get evacuation flights is proving to be extremely difficult and taxing.

Speaking to editorji, Roshan Kumar recounted his plight while travelling from Ivano-Frankivsk to the Slovakia border. He accused taxi drivers of charging 1,000 dollars or around Rs 75,000, even though the journey should cost Rs 1,500, according to him. Roshan also claimed that officials at the border crossings are charging exorbitant amounts for quicker passage.
