New Delhi, Dec 5 (PTI) — In a shocking incident in southeast Delhi's Bhogal area, a 27-year-old car driver lost his life after being allegedly stabbed by a group of inebriated youths following a heated altercation regarding public urination. The incident occurred under the Barapula flyover on the morning of December 3, and the case was swiftly resolved with the arrest of the main accused and three minors, police reported on Friday.

The victim, identified as Kuldeep alias Ram Singh, hailed from Ayodhya district in Uttar Pradesh. A case was registered under Section 103(1) for murder as per the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Utilizing surveillance footage from over 500 CCTV cameras and gathering technical and human intelligence, the police made significant progress. A key piece of footage near a public lavatory next to Jain Mandir, Bhogal, helped police make the initial breakthrough.

The prime accused, Imran alias Panwadi, who is already facing charges in three other snatching and theft cases, was taken into custody along with three minors allegedly involved in this crime.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the group was celebrating Imran's birthday and was en route to India Gate for a night outing. The confrontation with the victim over urination quickly intensified. In their drunken state, the argument turned violent, culminating in the fatal stabbing of Kuldeep. The group then fled the scene with the victim's car.

The stolen vehicle, along with blood-stained clothing and the weapon used, has been recovered by the police, providing further evidence in this tragic case.
