Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has been sworn-in as Maharashtra's new chief minister.

The announcement by Devendra Fadnavis naming Shinde as chief minister had surprised many as the BJP leader was expected to take the top seat himself.

The move, however, fuelled criticism that Eknath Shinde had rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray for power.

Rejecting the critcisim, Shinde told reporters that he had not rebelled for power. He said that he and the other Sena MLAs with him rebelled only to take forward Balasaheb Thackeray's legacy and they have no greed for power.
