Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the early trends suggesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi trailing from his Varanasi seat showed that it was a moral and political defeat of the BJP.
"The prevailing trends show that the present (govt) is now becoming past. This is a massive moral and political defeat. This has never happened that the prime minister is trailing in his own seat. This is just a trailer in Varanasi. The PM kept on harping that this was just a trailer."
