Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi defended her brother Rahul Gandhi over his remarks that those who call themselves Hindus are engaged in "violence and hate" round the clock.

She also brushed aside allegations of BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that Gandhi insulted the Hindu community with his remarks at the Lok Sabha.

"He cannot insult Hindus. He spoke eloquently. He was talking about the BJP and its leaders," she said.
