Centre asks hospitals to prioritise heatstroke cases as heatwave casualties spike

Union Health Minister JP Nadda has ordered all hospitals run by the central government to provide the best care to those affected affected by heatstroke.

Nadda's order came on Wednesday after he reviewed the hospital preparedness amidst the intense heatwave.

Many parts of India are reeling under a brutal heatwave, with the national capital Delhi seeing a spike in heatstroke cases and casualties.

So far 20 people have died in three major hospitals in Delhi due to heatwave-related causes, while Noida registered 15 deaths. Most of the deaths have been recorded in the past three days.
