The Delhi Police has issued a citywide alert to trace a red Ford EcoSport bearing registration number DL10CK0458, suspected to be linked to the Red Fort blast case, sources said on Wednesday.

According to officials, the alert was circulated across all police stations, border checkpoints, and security posts in the national capital.

The car, registered to Umar Un Nabi at the Rajouri Garden RTO on 22 November 2017, is believed to have been in possession of suspects already connected to the Hyundai i20 used in Monday’s explosion near the Red Fort.

At least five Delhi Police teams have been deployed to locate the vehicle, while Uttar Pradesh and Haryana Police have also been alerted to maintain strict vigilance and assist in the search.

Agencies have instructed all police units to immediately intercept red Ford EcoSport cars matching the description as part of the ongoing investigation into the terror-linked explosion that killed several people and injured many others.
