The Aam Aadmi Party retained control of Delhi's civic body after its candidate Shelly Oberoi was re-elected the Mayor of Delhi.

Oberoi won the election on April 26, 2023, after BJP candidate Shikha Rai withdrew her nomination.

The BJP leader said that she was pulling out of the race because an election to the standing committee has not been conducted.

The Delhi mayoral polls are held annually.
