Cyclone Michaung: Tamil Nadu flooded after heavy rains, scary visuals surface

Cyclone Michaung has heavily affected Tamil Nadu. The visuals of the trail of destruction are now doing rounds on the internet. The cyclone with a  wind speed of 75 km per hour and over 40 cm rainfall in just 36 hours has turned fatal for many. 

In the viral videos from Tamil Nadu, it can be seen that people were using boats in the Tambaram CTO colony and Sasivardhan Nagar area of Chennai as the city is facing a flood-like situation. 

There are also videos where cattle were seen wading through deep waters in the Pammal region. In another such incident, a car was seen stuck in the massive waterlogging in Chennai's Velachery and Pallikaranai areas. 

Due to the heavy rains, trains were cancelled and the airport was shut down too. Other than this, electricity was even suspended in most parts of Tamil Nadu that had been affected by Cyclone Michaung. MeT department and independent weather bloggers called it the biggest rainfall event since 2015.
