'Break silence, Modiji': Rahul attacks govt after Chinese unfurled flag at Galwan

A video showing Chinese troops unfurling their national flag at the Galwan Valley has given the Opposition fresh ammo against the Modi government.

A number of Chinese government mouthpieces put out the video of the event on January.

Leading the charge, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his silence on Chinese aggression.

A number of other Congress and Opposition leaders also demanded answers from the Centre over Chinese aggression.

The provocation at the border came days after China “renamed” 15 places in Arunachal Pradesh. The government had then put out a sharp reaction, reiterating that the state of Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.

On June 15, 2020, Ladakh’s Galwan Valley witnessed a violent clash between the Armies of India and China. The clash was one of the worst in 45 years in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed. It led to a military standoff with China with innumerable rounds of military talks about the disengagement process.
