Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena has slammed the BJP over what it called the politicisation of Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya.

Takin a dig, Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the BJP will soon “announce Lord Ram their candidate for elections”. He said: “so much politics is being done in the name of Lord Ram”.

Responding to questions over the invitation to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple, the Sena leader told news agency ANI, "Now, the only thing left is that the BJP will announce that Lord Ram will be their candidate for the elections."
