Fresh communal violence was reported in parts of Gurugram after a mob torched a religious place and killed a cleric during the night in Sector 57.

Reports said at least 14 shops belonging to a minority community were vandalised in Badshahpur's main market.

As the local administration imposed Section 144 in the district, bordering the national capital, reports said seven shops were set ablaze in Sector 66.

The Hindustan Times reported that nearly 200 men on motorbikes and SUVs targeted mostly Biriyani shops and non-vegetarian food stalls.
