A man found himself seated next to Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, on an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru. The man who identified himself as Naren Krishna is a startup CEO and he shared his experience later on LinkedIn.
Naren Krishna shared that Murthy had a conversation with him in which they spoke about various things, including AI and the current state of the Indian economy.
Krishna wrote in his LinkedIn post, "The sheer disbelief of sharing an economy seat with a visionary of his stature lingered throughout the journey."
He said what blew him away was "how down-to-earth and approachable" the Infosys co-founder was.
According to Krishna, Murthy "recounted instances from Infosys journey when, despite putting in relentless efforts, big contracts didn't materialise, while unexpected deals surprisingly fell into place." The business tycoon advised Krishna to be detatched from results.
"The key takeaway for me in this discussion was the quote mentioned from Louis Pasteur, "Chance favours the prepared mind," he wrote.
The Bengaluru man said he would carry the memory of this unexpected encounter a long time.
